Creighton and Liam at the Biltmore Estates Easter egg hunt
Moira got her first two bottom front teeth and so she had a few weeks of not sleeping through the night while they arrived. Another first for Moira this month was a runny nose, it arrived at the same time the teeth. She has started to babble and really enjoys sitting up unsupported to play. Creighton really enjoys playing with her. This month he started asking, daily, "Can I play with sister?" It is so sweet how he cares for her, helps her with toys, reads her books, hugs her, tickles her, and his favorite "I am going to goof around with Moira".
It is so fun to spend every day with these two amazing little people. I am so blessed. Tim was on a fire assignment for 23 days and didn't get to spend St. Patricks Day with us but he made it home in time for his birthday and Easter. Also we found out that Tim got a new job in north Georgia and will be starting May 6th, so we are moving at the end of April. With his new job he hopes not have to travel as much, as he will be more of a local resource rather than a national one. We are looking forward to the new adventure in the mountains of Georgia.
February was mainly cold and windy here in Asheville but we made the most of it.
Tim had one fire assignment this month in Arkansas and missed out on our fun weekend road trip to Georgia for Madelyn's 3rd birthday party.
However, Tim was able to join us for a weekend in Blue Ridge, GA with the Flowers family.
Pop-Pop came to visit us on his way to and from Uncle Rogers.
Creighton really enjoyed the weekly gymnastic center, play dates, library and meeting Smokey Bear at Health Adventure.
Moira has been busy this month: she loves making a grunting noise when she wants to talk or tell us how happy she is, she started rolling over front to back, she found her feet, started eating solid foods (note: loves bananas hates carrots), and at the end of the month she started sitting up unsupported.
Creighton is diaper free! After last month's travels we stayed home and enjoyed some local time. Aunt Mollie & Uncle Drew stopped by on their way to Colorado and Meme and Papa came to visit which were the highlights for sure. Here are a few videos from the month:
Moira is 4 months old, 13.6 lbs, 25.5" long and is starting to respond to her own reflection in the mirror, imitate sounds and showing signs of wanting to roll
she is also getting her hands to mouth
This month Creighton has been very creative and imaginative. Acting out books he reads and he is also pretending flip flops are ice skates, a spoon is his Thor hammer, and much more. His favorite game of the month has been "hide and seek". Here is a clip of a submarine adventure.
He could not get enough of Papa while he was here. I am not sure Creighton ever stopped asking him to play. Even when he woke up Creighton would ask "is Papa up yet?" It was so much fun to watch his excitement.
OK so we are a little late but wanted to wish you all a
Happy Thanksgiving. We have so much to
be thankful for these days.
Since the last post Moira has started holding her head up pretty
good on her own, she started using her sleep sack instead of a swaddle at
night, and has her hand in her mouth most of the time when she is awake. She has been staying awake at least 2 hours
at a time and is still sleeping through the night…her current record is 7pm to
6am!She definitely takes after her mom
when it comes to her sleeping abilities.
Creighton’s two favorite things this month: the alphabet or
as he calls them “super letters”(so far
he can identify all but 6 letters) and his 24 piece Thomas the train puzzle
Creighton’s phrases this month have been “probably” “not yet
though” and “I won’t do it anymore”
Moira met her Aunt Stacy this month and we had a wonderful
weekend exploring Asheville
with her.
Tim had to work Monday through Sunday except Thanksgiving Day
but we were able to celebrate Thanksgiving the weekend prior, with the Suskay
family, at the cabin. It was fun filled
with lots of great food and once again the sandbox, a.k.a. horseshoe pits Papa
Joe installed, were a hit all weekend.
We were able to get out the Christmas boxes and decorate our
house for the holidays.Creighton really
enjoyed helping out this year…check out the video of Tim and Creighton setting
up the nativity Grandma and Grandpa Stuck made us…the belly button comment is
my favorite!Did I mention how thankful
I am to have such an amazing life and family?
Here is a quick video of Creighton saying Happy Halloween and showing his excitement after trick or treating
Here is a video of one Saturday morning in October...corn maze, "cow train" tractor ride, hayride, hay bail maze, spider web net crawl, and a huge corn box:
Here is a video during our cold windy hike up to Craggy pinnacle off the Blue Ridge Parkway. It was so fun to watch Creighton enjoying every minute of the hike. He hiked and talked the entire mile and a half. The video captures a few things he said like "that's a big huge rock" "climb over log" "hey look Daddy that's a cow doggie" it was a white dog with black spots...and on the way down repeated "lets go on another hike"
Tim, Creighton, and Bailey camped in our camper outside Meme and Papa's cabin in Blue Ridge on October 5th and 6th. Moira and I stayed in the cabin with the rest of the crew (Meme, Papa, Mollie, Abbie, Matt, Angie, Toby, Patrick, Madelyn, Bogart, Roxy, and Kona). We were celebrating Angie's birthday and apple picking at Merciers Orchard.
Tim returned to work on October 9th but thankfully he has not had any fire assignments and he been able to come home every night.
Moira had a wonderful October. Her stats as of October 1st were 7 pounds 7.5 ounces 21 inches tall and she now weights 9 pounds 12 ounces and 22 inches tall. She has outgrown newborn size clothes and has moved on to size 1 diapers. She sleeps through the night and is a happy little princess.
1st of many play dates (with Creighton, Reed, and Conrad) - October 2nd
1st vacation (weekend in Blue Ridge, GA) and met Aunt Abbie - October 5th - 7th
1st time apple picking (Merciers Orchard) - October 6th
1st hike - October 20th
1st picnic in the park - October 26th
she started cooing repeatedly during playtime - October 27
Creighton current stats are 28 pounds 4 ounces and 35.25 inches tall. A few things Creighton has been up to this month:
-saying "baby crying...she needs her paci"
-on a play date with his friend Reed "Reed and I are goofing around" it reminded me of the way Papa says it.
-started to learn the alphabet this month...he refers to the letters W and M as flip flops
-helps pour water on Moira during her baths
-started watching TV this month (only PBS of course) but he enjoys Super Why and Sesame Street. He refers to Big Bird as Big Duck.
- First trip to Chuck E Cheese, for a friends birthday party. His favorite was the backhoe loader he could ride.
- started singing "Idaho" song by Yonder Mountain String Band
- started paying attention and participating in story time at the library
- will swing at the playground as long as you will let him
- discovered a ride on toy at the playground sandbox and was so excited he said "who left Creighton a digger"...highlight of that day for sure
- Early in the month he caught a cold and we were giving him cold medicine, it has a picture of a bear on the bottle....I forgot to give it to him before bath one night and after bath he asked "Can I have a shot of bear juice?"
-has started asking why...why is Thomas blue and James red
-has started asking what a word means if he has not heard it before...what is sizzle
- Creighton has been getting very creative and doing a lot more independent play. It is fun to sit back and watch what he comes up with. An example, he took a drink coaster and said it was a turntable for his trains.
